Description:

Sometimes winter catches you by surprise and you need a pair of mittens, quick! These are a perfect quick knit or a blank canvas for mitten fun! We'll start simple, with a single color, but once you've done one, the possibilities are endless. We'll be using The World’s Simplest Mittens pattern by Tin Can Knits. It's a wonderful, easy to read pattern that has great results. If you know the knitting basics, you can make these. In class, we'll learn about working in the round, ribbing, increasing, decreasing, and picking up stitches. These mittens take less than one skein, and the pattern is written for many different yarn weights. We'll be using worsted weight. Our first class will be casting on and working the ribbing and the increases for the thumb. Our second class will be knitting the body of the mitten.  Come by the shop later to finish up decreasing the top and adding the thumb.

Yarn (included in class price): Berroco Lanas, one skein

Needles (available for purchase in shop): Size US 4 and US 7 double-pointed needles or circular needles

Skill Level: Adventurous beginner - you should know how to cast on, knit, and purl.
